Dash pad plastic cover

21.12.2021Installation manual for the plastic cover which provides an easy repair of broken Dashboards. We did the repair at a Volvo 244 from 1987.
This car has always been parked outside. The dash cracked due to years of sun impact.
lever up the molding below the outer ventilation nozzle using a suitable tool.
Loosen the screw and pull out the nozzle.
Take out the clips of the windscreen nozzle.
Pull out the windscreen nozzle.
Take out the speaker.
Take out the nozzle at the other side of the dash.
Remove protruding edges and loose parts of the dash.
Put on the cover without glue to inspect thefit. Adapt the cover to the dash.
Degrease the dash.
Apply the glue to the cover.
Put on the cover.
Press the cover to the dash as evenly as possible. We used a tensioning strap and a support...
... clamped the bar between the windshield nozzle and the speaker with a claming pliers...
... and wedged the front edge to the windshield.
Allow the glue to try. We did the repair in the afternoon and let it dry overnight.
