09.02.2026Conversion of a new control valve into your old control valve housing
To install the new control valve, you`ll need the housing of the old one.So, remove the old control valve from the fan shroud! Make a note of all the vacuum hose connections and how the valve is attached.
Use suitable pliers to straighten the bent tabs on the old housing as much as possible and keep them as perpendicular as possible. The straighter the tabs are bent, the easier it will be to push the valve out of the housing.
Here in the picture you can see all 4 noses bent upwards.
Now you need to push the valve out of the housing. Pliers might help with this.
Here you can see the new valve and the old housing in the position in which the two parts need to be reassembled.
Attach the valve...
...and possibly squeeze them together with suitable pliers. Make sure you don`t bend any of the noses, but rather that all the noses fit into the holes.
Then simply push the tabs back in so that the valve stays properly in the housing.
Here you can see the modified valve. Now you just need to reinstall it in your vehicle in reverse order.
