29.03.2019Tutorial how to install the door contact switch SKANDIX 1049716 at the example of a Volvo 121.
The door contact switch switches the wire coming from the interior lights on ground.
For a correct ground connection the retaining brackets of the switch must have a good contact to the body. if your car is even restored you have to remove the new paint in the hole for the switch.
To prevent corrosion and ensure permanent function, oil the new switch a little, in the example with WD40.
Plug the wire on the contact pin of the swich.
Push the switch into it`s hole in the body and you are ready.
It`s not original but reasonable and easy rebuilt to the original:

It prevents abrasion of the paint at the contact areas of the door and the windscreen pillar.
