30.11.2021Instructions for replacing the often age-related colourless emblem on the bonnet.
The emblems of many older Saab are often sadly colourless. The colours have been lost over time due to environmental influences, washing and touching when closing the hood.
A new emblem is still available and remedies this.
The clips or body plugs (Skandix 1018761) for the pins of the emblem should be changed at the same time, because they are often brittle with age and can be damaged when the emblem is removed.
Carefully lift the emblem from the body with a suitable tool. The paintwork should be clean in the surrounding area to avoid scratching the paintwork.
The area underneath the emblem is often very dirty, this should now of course be cleaned thoroughly. Otherwise this dirt will cause scratches and rust under the new emblem. Lever the two round clips out of the hood.
Treat the holes with corrosion protection. Press in the new clips.
Now press the new emblem nicely vertically into the clips and the car looks completely different.
