28.02.2023Press funnel for damage-free pressing of the wishbone bushings into the retaining brackets.
To press the wishbone bushings into the brackets, the bracket is placed centred on a pressure piece or socket. The bushing should barely fit into the nut or the pressure piece. Now rub a thin layer of silicone grease (Skandix 1035704) into the inside of the press funnel and the bushing, centre it on the bracket and position the bushing in it.
The size of the socket or the pressure piece for pressing in should be selected so that it passes well through the funnel. Otherwise the funnel could be damaged during pressing. It should also not be so small that it only presses on the steel core of the bushing, which could damage the bushing.
Once correctly aligned, slowly press in the bushing. Make sure that it does not tilt away and is pressed straight.
When pressing in, it is better to stop a little early so as to prevent the bushing from being pushed through too far. If in doubt, start again.
This allows the bushings to be fitted with the collar without damage, without the collar being damaged at the edge of the bracket.
