The 2x8" brake boosters are available in two versions, each with a different length of plunger for the master cylinder. Interchangeable plungers are not possible. If in doubt, loosen the master cylinder first, pull it back slightly, and inspect.

1014833: Plunger protrudes several centimeters from the housing.
1020386: Plunger protrudes only a few millimeters from the housing.

Service instructions:

The operating rod for the master cylinder is short and only protrudes slightly from the housing.
