At early engines M11 bolts can be installed. M11 bolts are no expanding bolts but the curved washers must always be renewed.
The thickness of the different piston seals balances out the piston overhang differences. Three notches(grooves): This is the thickest gasket = it always fits.
Service instructions:
At vehicles with M11 head bolts, the bolts must be retightened twice:
- after the engine ran for the first time
- a 2nd time after 1000-2000 driving kilometres!
At first untighten the screws over a 30° angle of rotation and after that tighten it over a 90° angle of rotation in one move.
