Inside the Gear selector there is a cable for the switch which can deactivate off the 4th gear. The cable would tear off if the Gear selector would be simply pulled up.
At the rear left side of the transmission there is a solenoid which can deactivate the 4th gear. The cable from the switch to the solenoid is not one-parted but there is a plugged connection near the fusebox. You will find the fusebox when the ashtray and the cover is taken out.
