additional info:
HODT MULTI FILM is an aqueous "hybrid" system that contains both a physically dry, aqueous dispersion and a water-soluble, oxidatively hardening binder system.
With this combination, the usage properties of the two binder bases can be brought out optimally.
With the primary dispersion, this system results in rapid drying and high chemical and mechanical resistance.
The water-soluble, chemically hardening binder, on the other hand, in this combination results in a closed film with high gloss and good body.
The film formation in this system consists in the fact that the oxidatively hardening binder in the film fills the free volumes of the fused dispersion parts and that a closed, diffusion-tight film is created after drying and hardening.
Service instructions:
Apply HODT MULTI FILM only to grease-free, cleaned surfaces. Please degrease with silicone remover. It can also be painted on stuck rust.
A dry layer thickness of at least 100 μm should be achieved with a brush, roller, dipping or spraying.
Multi Film can be diluted with water if necessary. (Ideal if screw threads are to be coated)
After dilution, however, several layers must be applied in order to achieve the desired layer thickness.
A layer thickness of 30 to 50 μm can be applied in one operation (by spraying and immersion).
A dry layer thickness of at least 100µ should be achieved later, therefore 2 spray coats with a corresponding drying time are a prerequisite!
It is important that the individual layers have dried before a new layer is applied.
At temperatures around 20 ° we recommend letting the individual layer dry for at least 12-24 hours before applying a new layer of Multi Film.
For a protection period of 7 years on steel, a layer thickness of at least 120 μm must be guaranteed - i.e. 3-4 layers (for corrosivity categories C1, C2, C3 and C4 according to DIN EN ISO 12944-5).
Multi Film is dust-dry after approx. 6 hours and can be painted over with many varnishes after 24 hours, depending on the temperature and humidity.
