Fits at engines with Alternator mounting points (Mounting with one screw in the engine front). If the car had a dynamo before you additionally need the upgrade bracket, Skandix 1010864.
The 55A Alternator housing is bigger than the 33A Version.
When replacing the Dynamo with the big 55 A Alternator at some vehicle models the old straight arm touches the alternator housing. Because of that we are offering the bended tensioning arm Skandix 1072541.
Additionally is may be necesary to use a longer belt, for example 10x960 (Skandix 1000661).
Service instructions:
When changing from generator to alternator:
connection generator D+ = connection alternator B+ (Main power cable)
connection generator DF+ = connection alternator D+ (Control lamp)
connection generator D- = connection alternator none
When chaning from external to internal regulator:
- The cable at the D+ connector at the external regulator must be connected to the D+ Connector at the new Alternator
- The cable at the B+ connector at the external regulator must be connected to the B+ Connector at the new Alternator
- The cables DF and D- must not be connected at the new Alternator.
Check the belt trace after installation. It may be possible to adjust the trace with washers between the Alternator and the mounting points.
