Reinforcement for the rear axle joint bushing Tool

23.11.2021Manual for dismantling the rear axle joint bushing using the genuine Tool (Skandix 1018424) and the SKANDIX reinforcement 1061471. Due to the long lifetime the bushings are often stucked very tight in the Rear axle body. Because of that the special tool can get damaged by tilting. In principle we recommend to use the reinforcement. A careful use is assumed nevertheless.
There is a hole underneath the axle body.
The genuine tool is locked into this hole.
Place the tool to the axle body. Check if the tool is locked into the hole.
Tighten the upper bolt to lock the Tool.
Now apply the reinforcement. Insert the long bolts of the reinforcement throuth the sleeves of the genuine tool.
The reinforcement must lay horizontally at the top.
Carefully tighten the supplied nuts to lock the reinforcement. Do not over tighten the nuts to avoid tilted bolts.
Now the tool is ready.
Pull out the bushing by turning the spindle. Attention: Do not use an impact wrench!
Pulled out bushing.
Now you can press in the new bushing using the same tool and the reinforcement.
